STEP 1: Secure a Valid and Updated Business Permit to Operate as a Hotel

  • Before hotel establishments can operate as a hotel, you must first secure a valid and updated business permit with your local government unit (LGU).
  • Each LGU has its own process and nuances for the application of a business permit, so it would be best to coordinate and contact your local Business Process and Licensing Office to know the specific requirements under the LGU. 

STEP 2: Get Accredited with the Department of Tourism

  • The Hotel Establishment will be required to register online through this link: https://accreditation.tourism.gov.ph/register
  • The Hotel Establishment should then fill up the registration online and submit all the documents required therein.
  • You may refer to the attached document “Requirements for Accreditation of Primary Tourism Establishment” for the initial list.

Once your hotel is accredited, you may now operate under any community quarantine. Please note that previously, hotels should also secure a Certificate of Authority to Operation (CAO). However, we were recently informed by the DOT that as long as the hotel is accredited, it does not need to secure a separate CAO anymore. But please be sure to comply with the guidelines issued by the DOT with regard to operating a Hotel.

The hotel establishment must conduct a disinfection of its facility through a valid and accredited disinfection service provider who will then issue the subject certificate.

2. Secure Certificate of Infectious Waste Collection or a Notarized Copy of the Contract with a Collector

Since the hotel will be collecting possibly infectious waste materials from quarantined guests, it must also secure a Certificate of Infectious Waste Collection or a Notarized Copy of the Contract with its accredited Collector.

3. Schedule an Inspection with the BOQ

To schedule an inspection with BOQ, please email the following details to: boq.qfinspection@gmail.com
(1) Name of the facility;
(2) Complete Address;
(3) Contact Person; and
(4) Contact Details.

Once the facility is inspected and approved, it will then be listed online in BOQ’s list of inspected facilities here: https://quarantine.doh.gov.ph/facilities-inspected-as-of-may-27-2021
