Kawa Kawa Natural Park is one of the most popular tourist spots in Albay located in Ligao City. It is a six-hectare crater that many people hike or trek to see wonderful sightings of nature including the Mayon Volcano. There you’ll find lush greenery, bamboo huts, sunflower plantation, and life-size statues depicting the Stations of the Cross.
Many devotees visit the place during the lenten season to pray, hold their penitence, and perform the 14 Stations of the Cross, that are parts of a Christian tradition which represent the path Jesus Christ took on the way to his crucifixion.
Aside from the Stations of the Cross, there is also a Carmelite church at the hills for pilgrims to visit and Bambusetum where you can take lots of photos. This surely is a great place to learn about the Kawa Kawa Hills history.
