Staycation and holiday travel in MGCQ areas

Hotels and resorts in Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) areas are allowed to accept guests for leisure purposes even from other provinces that have the same classification.

Staycation and travel from GCQ areas to MGCQ

Some Philippine destinations allow tourists residing in GCQ areas to enter their provinces provided that they follow the protocols and bring the necessary travel requirements asked by the local government units. For more details and announcements, make sure to check the website and other social media pages of the destination you’re planning to visit before booking your trip for Philippines tourism staycation updates.

Staycation and travel for locals in MGCQ areas

Local tourists can freely visit areas under MGCQ without need for a travel authority. However, they are required to secure a travel authority if they have to pass through areas that are under general community quarantine, modified enhanced community quarantine or enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).

Tourists from MGCQ areas going directly to another MGCQ area without passing through LGUs under another quarantine level no longer need a travel authority.

LGUs have the authority to impose curfews and require quarantine passes, as needed.
