1. Jacking Horse

Jacking Horse Siargao got its name because of the way the waves that jack at the peak, smashing into the reef. The place is best surfed between mid to high tide. The waves are manageable for those trying to balance and get their timing right that’s why this is perfect for beginners. 

2. Guiuan

Just 15-20 minutes away from General Luna, Guiuan is a great surfing spot for newbies. It has become a go-to surfing destination because of its accessibility. 

3. Quicksilver

Sitting right across Cloud 9 Siargao Island, Quicksilver is sometimes called Cloud 9’s little brother. Unlike the former, Quicksilver caters to newbie surfers. The waves are more forgiving as it approaches the shore, so you can learn how to balance and get the right timing on when to get up as the waves begin to barrel.

For intermediate

4. Cemetery

This Siargao surfing spot got its name because it’s located near a cemetery in General Luna. The waves here break in both right and left. 

5. Daku Reef

Daku Island is not just a famous beach destination in Siargao but also popular for its thrilling waves. The waves at Daku Reef can get strong during peak season and it can be a good intro to reef surfing. 

6. Pilar

Home to two left reef breaks, Pilar is one of the best Siargao surf spots for intermediate surfers. Unlike other surfing spots, it takes some time to reach Pilar, approximately an hour and a half from General Luna.

For advanced

7. Cloud 9 Siargao

Talk about surfing in the Philippines and Cloud 9 Siargao first comes to mind. Cloud 9 does not just offer a great sunset view but also offers the most thrilling waves. In fact, it is ranked as having one of the top ten waves in the world, that’s why it’s a go-to spot for the professional surfers. Hence, being the usual venue for international surfing competitions.

8. Tuason’s Point

Another surfing spot in Siargao that is for  “experts only” us Tuason’s Point. This consistent left hand tubing wave is just as good and slightly heavier than Cloud 9. Just a reminder, beware of sharp rocks when entering and exiting the water.

9. Pacifico

At Pacifico, you’ll find long, hollow left breaks over a rocky reef, which will challenge you and prepare you for Cloud 9 surfing experience. From General Luna, it will take about an hour to reach Pacifico.
