Have you ever wondered how other people manage to travel the world constantly despite the lack of luxury of time (and money)?
Some people see that traveling is something that is only for the privileged. Some also think that people who travel often are just wasting their time and money. While it is true that traveling is sometimes costly, the pleasure it gives does not compare with anything. It can give so much more than what other material things can do.
Sure we need to save the money we earn for food, housing, clothing, and other expenses. But if we cage ourselves to our 9-5 jobs and stay in one same place, it may dull our senses. Our world becomes small and we lose our desire to discover new things. Our eyes won’t have the chance to see new wonders; our ears won’t hear the sounds that the wilderness makes. We live daily in a routine that is both comfortable but limiting. And one day, we wake up and realize that we have lost our dreams in order to protect our days.
Don’t be this person. Don’t take the benefits of traveling away from your senses, at least. You can always make money but you can’t always make memories. That is why we need to travel.
It may be the break you need or the love you’ve been longing for. When in fact, traveling is a lot like love. You are willing to explore the unknown like getting to know a stranger even if you’re unsure of what is really waiting for you on the other side. You are glowing when you see the beach like the way you blush when you see your crush. You learn to adapt to the town’s different culture like how you accept your differences with your partner. That is why you’ll keep wanting more.
Travel isn’t always rainbows and sunshine, though. It isn’t always comfortable. Sometimes it hurts but that’s okay. Because at the end of your journey, you will change for the better. It leaves marks on your heart, on your body, and on your memory.
Travel while you can. Don’t worry about the money because for sure, it will come again. You will be surprised that traveling can be much cheaper than you think it is. As long as you know how to travel smart like staying in a budget hotel, then all is good. The money you’ll spend on traveling will be replaced after all. If not, make it work. But the memories, great experiences, and new friendships you could have gained from the time you chose to sit on your desk, in front of your computer, can never be replaced. Experience is far more valuable than money will ever be.
Stop surviving and start living. Traveling once in a while won’t hurt.
Let us ask you, will you remember the time you spent working in the office? Just travel. Don’t feel guilty for taking a vacation leave because you deserve it after all.
